ENP 64: Methods for Human Factors Engineering
Tufts University, Spring 2023
This was my final project for EPN64. My partner and I were tasked with utilizing all the methods for human factors engineering that we learned throughout the semester in order to design an ergonomic product with an companion phone app. We decided to design a smart fidget toy to assist early teens with anxiety management and building healthy mental health habits.

Reflection
The process of incorporating anthropocentric considerations, identifying stakeholders and conducting knowledge elicitation whilst considering interface design was truly a test of my knowledge of human factors methodology. By putting into practice each method that I had learned earlier in the semester, I was able to gain a more holistic view of how these tools, when used with a thoroughness of care, can produce a product that speaks to the user's needs. Given the opportunity to further refine this design, I would revisit the the design of the physical product and produce a high fidelity prototype. Doing so would allow me to incorporate the telemetry aspect of the design and better refine the physical design of the fidget toy.
